Sculpture of Diadoumenos: Greek bronze statue made in 430 B.C.  There are many copies that now exist that are built from marble. This statue was made by Polykleitos. Polykleitos was known for his canon, which was about mathematical proportions as demonstrated in this statue.

Grave Stele of Hegesos: This was built in 410-400 B.C. It was made of marble and has low relief. The Athenian lady is picking a piece of jewelry out of the box that her servant is holding. The sad emotion that the artist made her look has a large impact. This was built for funerary purposes.

Statue of a Kouros: Greek statue was built in 590-580 B.C. This was one of the first freestanding statues aside from the small puddle that was under his feet. He had the usual left foot forward position as if indicating that he was walking or shifting his weight. This statue was built form marble. It was believed to have served as a grave marking or a detacation to a God as most statues were in this time period.
